It Started at the Gym

Sometimes the best partnerships begin when you least expect them.

For Antonio and Nick, it began with a chance conversation at the gym. Antonio had been roasting his own coffee and was eager to share it. When he introduced Nick to what he was making, he discovered that Nick had also been interested in coffee roasting for some time.

What started as a conversation about freshly roasted beans became a friendship built around a shared curiosity: how do you make a truly great cup of coffee?

Different Skills. The Same Pride in Craftsmanship.

Antonio's background is in food and barbecue. Through years of cooking, smoking meats, and developing flavors, he learned that great results take patience, attention, and pride in every detail.

Nick brings a grower's perspective: an appreciation for plants, cultivation, and the care that goes into producing quality ingredients. Both came from big-city backgrounds, and both recognized in each other a commitment to doing things well.

They may have followed different paths, but they found common ground in the flavors, aromas, and possibilities of coffee.

From a Shared Interest to a Partnership

Antonio began developing coffees with different personalities: a bold, high-caffeine blend, a balanced medium roast, and a brighter light roast. As he and Nick kept talking, tasting, and exchanging ideas, Nick offered to help introduce the coffee to more people.

Over time, they got to know one another, built mutual trust, and realized they could bring their different strengths together. Antonio eventually asked Nick to become his partner.

Roadside Coffee Roasters grew from that simple idea: two people who love what they do, working together to make coffee they can be proud of.
